Belmullet Cycle Hub

The North Mayo Cycle Network with the town of Belmullet as its hub offers a number of marked cycle trails ranging in distance from 37km – 72km. Each cycle trail offers breathing taking views off the North Mayo Coast. The linear trail linking Belmullet – Ballycastle passes through a large number of villages; numerous picnic stops are dotted along the route as well as a number of public houses and restaurants.

These routes form a significant portion of the National Cycle Network throughout Co Mayo.


Carrowmore Lake Loop

Start / Trailhead: Belmullet Town
Distance: 37 km
Estimated Time: 2-3 Hours
Terrain: County Roads
Level of Difficulty: Easy - Moderate
Traffic: Generally light but can get busy during holiday Season
To Suit: Suitable for people with a moderate levels of fitness
Minimum Gear: Helmet, Bike, Mobile Phone, Fluid, Snacks & Waterproofs

Pullathomas Loop

Start / Trailhead: Belmullet Town
Distance: 50 km
Estimated Time: 3-4 Hours
Terrain: County Roads
Level of Difficulty: Moderate
Traffic: Generally light but can get busy during holiday Season
To Suit: Suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness
Minimum Gear: Helmet, Bike, Mobile Phone, Fluid, Snacks & Waterproofs

Glinsk & Rossport Linear Route (Coastal Route Belmullet – Ballycastle)

Distance: 72 km
Estimated Time: 5-6 Hours
Terrain: County Roads
Level of Difficulty: Difficult
Traffic: Generally light but can get busy during holiday Season
To Suit: Suitable for people with a strong level of fitness
Minimum Gear: Helmet, Bike, Mobile Phone, Fluid, Snacks & Waterproofs

North Mayo Linear Route
